Yorktown Central School District Committed to Comply
with Regulations and to Protect Assets and Operations
February 13, 2012 - Today, the Administration presented the third part of the preliminary budget for the 2012-2013 school year, discussing general support. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Napolitano reinforced the district’s budget philosophy to provide Yorktown students with a well-rounded and balanced educational experience that addresses the whole child. This is based on the district’s mission and core beliefs, found on the district website at www.yorktown.org. The Superintendent continues to emphasize sensitivity to the taxpayers and to the economic climate, reinforcing the fact that the majority of budget funding is earmarked to the classroom. Yorktown is fifth of 46 districts in the area relative to percentage of budget spent on instruction, based on a BOCES contract analysis. The administration is proud of the fact that the largest percentage of the budget is used for the students in classrooms, and that costs for general administrative support throughout the district have remained consistent with historical low rates.

February 2012
Dear Parents and Community Members,
It is already mid-year, time to provide a community update on the progress we are making in achieving the Board of Education goals in the areas of education programs, financial planning, facilities, communication and technology every school year. I manage an action plan to attain these goals; administrators and staff design plans, measure progress and accomplishments toward these goals district-wide. We invite you to learn more on our websites, at Board of Education meetings, and to interact with students and staff at many community events.
